19/366: Happy Half birthday!

Dear J,

Today is your "Half-Birthday."
Your 1st birthday was 6 months ago, and your 2nd birthday is only 6 months away.

You are 18 months old.

Definitely a toddler now, no pretending you are still a baby.

(but you will always be my baby - even when you are 18 or 81!)

You have changed and grown and developed so much in the last few weeks.

Noticable, recognisable changes. You speak so many words I have lost count, and you seem to understand everything I ask you. Your comprehension is amazing to me. You are able to communicate what you want most of the time. If you aren't able to, boy do we know about it and we quickly try to establish the source of your frustration.

You are very busy all of the time.
You run everywhere because there is just so much to do. There is very little time for sitting still, except a book may hold your interest for a little while when the time is right.

You still love to go places on your tip-toes! I thought you may have grown out of this as you began walking, but no, still you insist on having moments just up that little bit higher...

Dislikes: being told no or not getting to do something that you want! Oh dear! Not a massive fan of being strapped into your car seat or pram and you do not hesitate to let us know about it. You do not like being tired or hungry and the household dissolves into chaos if either of these are to occur.  

Likes: Talking and using your words, pointing out every single clock, star or ball that we see.. anywhere!

Hats, fruit ("froot"), books, carrying pegs around with you, puzzles, swimming, dancing, music, sleep, giving kisses, shoes and your teddy bears. Terrorising  chasing the cats around for a "pat" and playing with all the balls around our house....

You also love your Nanna, Pa, Bubba and Deda and the special time you get to spend with them. They are always greeted excitedly and with a huge smile!

You love ending each day with a story and a cuddle with dad, and I love watching that special time that you two share...

You are growing up so quickly and you really are the sunshine of our days! Thank you for all the joy and laughter you bring to us every single day.  You are loving, cheeky and funny and can be very challenging. You make me a better person, just by being you.  You make my heart bigger and more full of love than I ever thought it could be. I am sure you daddy feels the same.
